A closer look at how we choose a starting point and help your child keep learning.
The Math Assessment helps us understand what your child can do, where they need help and what they are ready to learn next. An instructor reviews the results before recommending a starting point.
After staff review, your family receives a personalized assessment report. It describes strengths, skills that need more work, current levels in the areas assessed and recommended next steps. If the results do not tell us enough about an area, we say so and may recommend further checks.
A difficult topic can depend on an earlier skill your child has not yet understood. We identify those gaps, work on the missing skills and connect them to current school Math.
Students may be at different levels in different areas of Math. A child might be ready for more advanced algebra while still needing help with geometry. Their personalized learning plan starts from what they know, rather than their school grade alone.
Your child works through a personalized learning plan. Instructors check in to review progress, offer guidance and help with tricky ideas.
We check whether your child understands and can use a skill, then revisit earlier learning to see whether they remember and can use it later. As your child improves, we adjust their learning plan and the level of challenge.
Math Essentials builds strong foundations, fills gaps in earlier skills and supports school Math. It can help students who need to catch up or want a clearer understanding of what they are learning.
Advanced Math offers deeper reasoning, connections and challenging problems. Students can move faster or beyond their school grade when they understand the earlier skills they need. An instructor recommends where to begin after reviewing the assessment.
Competition Math focuses on creative problem solving for Math contests and unfamiliar problems. Students explore logic, patterns, number problems, geometry and ways to explain their thinking.
It can complement Math Essentials or Advanced Math. It does not replace your child’s main school Math program. Preparation supports local, national and international Math competitions.
